Technically a dessert hummus, but we don’t HAVE to tell the kids! 😉😂
If you’re looking for a chocolatey snack that is both satisfying and nutritious, this Easy Black Bean Brownie Batter Dipis a great option. It has the rich taste of brownie batter while being made with wholesome ingredients, including black beans as the base.
The black beans provide fiber and protein, making this dip more filling than traditional dessert options. The texture is smooth and creamy, and the chocolate flavor is strong enough that most people won’t realize they’re eating beans.
A Nutritious Dessert Option
Serve this dip to kids or guests without mentioning the main ingredient at first. Let them enjoy it, then share that it’s made with black beans. Most will be surprised, but by that point, they’ll already be convinced by the taste.
Why This Brownie Batter Dip Stands Out:
✔️ Naturally Sweetened – Uses healthier sweeteners instead of refined sugar
✔️ High in Protein & Fiber – A more balanced dessert choice
✔️ Quick & Simple to Make – Requires only a few ingredients and little prep time
This dip pairs well with fruit, graham crackers, pretzels or simply a spoon. It’s an easy way to enjoy a chocolate treat while keeping ingredients clean and nutritious.
Ingredients

Instructions for Easy Black Bean Brownie Batter Dip
- Drain and rinse the beans really well. I like to keep rinsing until the water run clear. Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor except the milk.
- Blend 1-2 minutes or until completely smooth. If it’s too thick, add in the milk, otherwise, leave it out.
- If you are adding chocolate chips, you can fold them in now (You just fold it in David!…Schitt’s Creek fan will appreciate this, others may think I’m losing it😂). If you have time, pop it in the fridge to allow the flavors to blend together, but sometimes we break this rule and just dive in! 😉 Serve the Easy Black Bean Brownie Batter Dip with whatever your heart desires…..strawberries, apple slices, on a slice of toast or we love these organic pretzel thins also found at Kroger and Costco!
