The Clean Ingredient cousin of the Chick-fil-A Sauce everyone loves! No one will realize this is a clean copycat chick fil a sauce!
Letās talk about that golden, smoky-sweet magic known as Chick-fil-A sauce. You know the oneārich, tangy, sweet, and just a little smoky. Itās basically the sauce that turns plain chicken into āwhere has this been all my life?ā level good. But hereās the thing: the store-bought version (and the fast food packets) are loaded with unnecessary additives, processed sugars, and oils you probably wouldnāt keep in your pantry. The good news? You can make a clean, copycat Chick-fil-A sauce at home using just a handful of simple ingredientsāand it tastes spot on.
A bottle of Chick-fil-A sauce ended up in my house. Before I knew it, my kids were totally hooked. They were dipping everythingānuggets, fries, you name it. But then I took a look at the ingredients. And letās just say, that bottle didnāt stick around for long. The first ingredient? Soybean oil. Then thereās corn syrup and caramel color… not what I was hoping for in a sauce.
We can definitely do better! So I decided to whip up a Cleaner Copycat Chick-fil-A Sauce thatās just as tasty, but with cleaner ingredients.
Now letās talk about how to use this sauce, because itās way too good to reserve just for chicken nuggets. We pair all sort of chicken sandwiches, nuggets and tenders in this sauce. But, we also use it with fish, on burgers and SO many other things! We SMOTHER our Crispy Baked Chicken Sandwiches with this sauce, and my oldest even drizzles it on the Crockpot Ground Beef Philly Fix! You can even use it as a salad dressing (thinned out with a little water or lemon juice), or dip in sweet potato friesāseriously, it works with so much.
If youāre trying to keep things simple and ditch the processed stuff without sacrificing flavor, this clean Chick-fil-A sauce hits the spot. All the flavor, none of the junk.

Ingredients
- Honey: we like to buy local!
- Yellow Mustard
- Barbecue Sauce:– I like to use the Stubbs brand, it’s not 100% perfect on the clean eating scale, but a step WAY above the others! No food dyes or seed oils! The Date Lady has a clean bbq sauce, but for the amount of bbq sauce we go through, it’s pretty pricey!
- Lemon Juice: fresh squeezed is wonderful, but the 365 brand is is great for when you don’t have lemons lying around!
- Mayonnaise: Sir Kensington and the Chosen Foods one are good clean options or you can make your own Homemade Mayonnaise!

Why we love honey!
Every fall we get gallons and gallons of honey from our local family owned bee farm.
Local honey isnāt just a tasty way to sweeten your tea or drizzle over yogurtāit can actually do a lot of good for your body too. One of the biggest reasons people love local honey is because it may help with seasonal allergies. Since it contains trace amounts of the same pollens floating around your local area, eating it regularly might help your body build up a little tolerance, kind of like a natural mini allergy shot (without the needles, thankfully).
Besides that, honey is just a better-for-you sweetener compared to refined sugar. Itās way less processed, and even though itās still technically sugar, it brings a few bonus perks to the table. Raw honey has small amounts of vitamins and minerals like potassium, calcium, and magnesiumānot enough to ditch your multivitamin, but hey, every little bit helps. It also contains antioxidants, which help fight oxidative stress in the body (a fancy way of saying they help protect your cells from damage).
Another bonus? Honey has a lower glycemic index than regular sugar. That means it doesn’t spike your blood sugar as fast or as high, which is a big deal if youāre trying to keep your energy steady without those āsugar crashā moments a couple of hours later.
On top of that, honey naturally packs some seriousĀ antibacterial and anti-inflammatory powers. People have used it for centuries to soothe sore throats, speed up wound healing, and even help calm down coughs. Some types of raw, unfiltered honey also containĀ natural prebiotics, which help feed the good bacteria in your gutāand a happy gut means better digestion and stronger immunity.
